What I Eat

The Different Kinds of Food I eat Year Round

Paella: A common Spanish dish that is served in the summer, usually the best on the beach as the seafood tends to be more fresh. I eat this whenever I go back to Madrid during breaks.

Chipotle: My savior for when the dining hall food is atrocious and I need some real food to satisfy my belly.

SU Dining hall food: My main source of food intake during the year. You know it's a good day if they put out chicken tenders and yes... each meal does cost $17.

Dorm Snacks: Usually the mainstream snacks that everyone has to satisfy that midnight crave or even fill up my belly if the dining hall food was gross.

Sushi: The first thing I always have whenever I go back to visit my other side of the family in California. The competition between restaurants is so high in San Francisco that I am always guaranteed to have a good meal whenever I go.

                                                Concept of Selfies
Selfies are a type of photo that has been implemented into our world not too long ago. I think that when I ask myself when was the first time that I witnessed a selfie, I would say around 2010 when social media was really booming. The advancement of phones has definitely had a lot to do with it as we have only had a normal camera that you could take pictures of things in front of you, never of yourself. Now with the development of iPhones and such devices we have 2 cameras available to us, one to take pictures in front of us and another to take a picture of our self. This was definitely the primary cause of the selfie movement as never was it normal for someone to take a picture of themselves with their own camera while they were also holding it. Normally, new things and concepts take long to implement themselves into a culture, but for some reason this new era of photo taking immersed itself into the whole world in just a matter of years. It has taken many roads on social media, for example what we saw in class to portray the different kinds of food that people eat around the whole world in distinct countries. People also utilize it to take a picture of themselves to put as their main profile picture on social media websites such as Facebook or Instagram but also in more professional applications to find jobs and connect with workers like LinkedIn. As we can see, selfies have really submerged themselves into our communities and we have yet to see what other applications they will have for our world.
