          In my unit 1 project, I went over the various ways that technology affects us in our everyday lives. It is sometimes crazy to think that we went from being cavemen living like wild animals to the immense advancements that we have and the many more to come. When looking for sources, the biggest thing that I had to search for was the quality of the information given out. I felt that when searching through the texts I found the best I could find online regarding this technological era. We got to choose 3 sources for ourselves and I decided to stick with the one professor Weiner gave us from the author Baron and 2 others that I picked out for myself. My second source was by far my best one as the author directly talks about if technology is improving our lives. Here he divides this subject up into 3 categories where one is technology that fun but mindless, another is technology that helps us but doesn’t help our most pressing issues and the last is technology that really helps our society in ways it could not before. He commences his article with a very good opening that already attracts the readers eye: “As we look around the technology landscape at the beginning of 2016, I think it’s fair to say that the pace of innovation is quite impressive. Driverless cars, drones, connected homes and 3-D virtual reality have arrived and today’s youth don’t even know of a time without social media or mobile apps”. Then from here he commences with the three categories and explains why it can be useful to us or absolutely not. My second source that I chose to incorporate is the 6 main ways that technology impacts your daily life. In this article, instead of there being a subjective analysis, the author went over factual information about our evolution throughout time with technology and how it is shaping our societies. A good quote from his article that goes over this is, “Not that long ago, our entertainment experiences used to live in the moment they happened, exist in our memories and find their way in old-fashioned photographs on wall. Today, that has all changed due to the rapid growth of the Internet, mobile connectivity, and social networks”. This reinstates the fact that we have been transforming so fast and that just a couple of decades ago we were at a completely different point. This is why I chose these sources, due to their ability to really inform their reader in a positive way. When enhancing my project I incorporated various things such as my new use of blogger. At first I never knew what blogger was but now that I have practiced and spent many hours with it I have realized how useful it can be in the work area. In these mini projects I incorporated photos that gave the audience during my presentation a better look and what I ate and hopefully made my point across more successful. I believe that the quality of my sources is very good and I wouldn’t change them at all. I went through many sources before I got to choose them and out of all of the ones I read they were the most informative and relatable to the concept that we have been going over in class. If I ever researched on this topic I could definitely incorporate it into the portfolio because it coming out of me would be easier to later express in the long run. For the projects in unit 2 and 3 we will do a persuasive project and an argumentative project regarding technology. The sources that I have would most definitely have a positive impact on these next sections and they are so broad in information but so detailed the same time that it would incorporate itself very nicely as it gives all the pros and cons of technology in our society and this is something you can go either or to later argue. Overall it was a productive project that I enjoyed doing and helped me analyze certain subjects I have never analyzed before.
